About Us

Majors Show lambs is located 5 miles northwest of Cabela’s in Milan, MI. Our flock genetics evolve around some of the best breeding in the club lamb business. In 1995 we purchased rams that would give us overall structure, correctness, and predictability. We purchased a Shell 212 son from McIlraths to add muscle depth, a big square hip and excellent tops.

With great success at county and state level we continued using the 212 daughters and added a Harms2000 “Lookout” and 2001 son (from McIlrath) to add style, height and the flashy show look. The 2003 Michigan State Fair Reserve Champion Ewe was sired by “Lookout.”

During our selection process we continued to keep a majority of the great 212 ewes and add several different rams. In 2002 we added a Mason ram and in 2003 an Ellerbrock (Miller) ram out of an Elmo daughter. “401” elevated the fronts, tightened the hide and took us to the next step in the show ring.

In 2004 we purchased a Winfrey ram (Ceasar) and a Howard ram at the Stud Ram Sale. These two powerful buck lambs certainly did a superb job on our ewe base. We are excited to see these lambs in the 2005 shows! The Mason ram “Oakley” sired “O2” our 2004 Michigan State Fair Grand Champion yearling ram. He is out of a 6-year old ewe going back to the 212 son. This ram put some excellent lambs on the ground for us in both 2004 & 2005. We look forward to seeing his lambs at the 2005 State Fair.

Because of our accomplishments in a relatively short time (compared to generations of family involvement) we continue to look for genetics that will accentuate the excellent maternal traits we have acquired over the last 10 years. We feel upgrading will not only help us stay at the top in the show ring, it will also gives us an edge to supply competitive club lambs year after year.
